White Haven Motor Lodge

It's a sad time around here- The White Haven Motor Lodged closed in late June, after a 53-year run. The Iconic sign, possibly the best neon motel sign I've seen this side of Las Vegas, was disassembled and removed last Thursday. The good part of the story though, is that The Johnson County Museum of History was the winning bidder at auction, and will eventually display after their move to a new and larger facility. The museum is currently in the planning stages to become a National Museum of Suburban History.

Bob Greenspan Photography has already made a donation to the museum, to be used toward restoration of the sign- and I urge others to do the same. Information can be found at
